My Girlfriend and I Got in a Fight and I Hit Her. We Made Up and Are Back Together. Can She Just Drop the Charges?

I wish it were that easy. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. The state attorney's office has full discretion on whether or not to press charges. Now if the girlfriend wants to not press charges, she can advise the prosecutor that, and it's always a good idea if she wishes to do that, but the prosecutor is not beholden to that alleged victim in order for them to go forward and press charges.
