What is Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence, as opposed to other violent crimes so to speak, such as battery, assault, or stalking, the domestic portion of that means that you're actually living with the person, and that person can be a family member or a significant other, spouse. It could also include dating that person as well. When a person is charged with domestic violence, they are often facing jail time. It can also be charged as a felony, which makes it more serious and even up to prison time.
